Wiseman Mncube, well known for his role as Sbonelo on the famous serial opera Uzalo, has announced his departure from the program.
While the actual reasons for his leave are unknown, according to a Daily Sun article, we have the inside scoop on his intriguing future move.
Mncube has been cast in a new telenovela named “My Brother’s Keeper.” This new show is set to take over the time period previously occupied by the award-winning TV show Gomora on Mzansi Magic. “My Brother’s Keeper,” which will include 130 episodes, will premiere on Monday, October 23rd at 7:30 PM.
In “My Brother’s Keeper,” Wiseman Mncube assumes the lead role of Nqubeko, a determined and ambitious son of a mistress who’s tired of being overlooked by his father. His character dares to defy tradition, challenging the rules of “ukungena” by pursuing his brother’s widow, Fakazile, portrayed by Zola Nombona. Fakazile wields significant influence within the Shabalala family empire.
Nqubeko’s relentless quest for power and desire for his father’s approval lead to clashes with his four half-brothers, ultimately threatening the unity of the Shabalala family and their future. The show promises intense drama as it explores who will triumph and who will suffer in the battle for dominance
“My Brother’s Keeper” is produced by Rhythm World, the same company behind the hit show “Umkhokha: The Curse,” and promises to bring intriguing drama and fascinating narrative to fans. Gomora, the beloved series that won the Golden Horn Award for Most Popular TV Soap/Telenovela in 2012, will say its final episode in October.
Other notable performers, like S’dumo Mtshali, Lindani Nkosi, Nelisa Mchunu, and Rosemary Zimu, join Wiseman Mncube and Zola Nombona in this thrilling endeavour.
