Hungani Ndlovu’s statement on the earnings of top-tier South African actors.

Hungani Ndlovu, well known as the second Tbose Maputla in Skeem Saam, claims that top-tier South African actors can earn between R150 000 and R200 000 per month before deductions.

This statement was made in response to entertainment commentator Phil Mphela’s post on Twitter, who revealed that top tier actors in South Africa can earn between R150 000 to R200 000 per month.

Experience, according to Mphela, still surpasses role importance in South Africa. A monthly salary of R150k to R200k is allocated for chosen actors who have been in the industry for a while. Being a leader does not guarantee those figures for everyone.
Ndlovu responded by revealing that top-tier South African actors do not receive R150k to R200k after deductions.

On Twitter, Soap Opera viewers weighed in on the performers’ wages. According to one user, @Lesego_Disipi, if this is the case, actors earn between R85k and R95k, which is not bad.

Another user, @lerrykins_, guessed Siyabonga Twala, Sindi Dlathu, Leleti Khumalo, Tony Kgoroge, Sello Maake-ka Ncube, and Connie Ferguson as the top five actors in the country. According to user @MrLekgowaTshepo, Muvhango pays well in comparison to other soapies.
